MEPs have backed a resolution calling on EU leaders to be more ambitious in their climate change targets.
At the European Parliament in Strasbourg, MEPs indicated the EU needs to raise targets for cuts to emissions by 2030, in order to achieve the goal of net-zero green house gas emissions by 2050.
Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan wants the Irish Government to advocate an increase of the EU’s climate targets in next week’s European Council Meeting.
