The Government is being urged to insist on a permanent solution to the Irish border issue post-Brexit, at the EU leaders summit later this month.
Differences remain between EU and British negotiators over a back-stop proposal aimed at avoiding a hard border in Ireland, after Britain leaves the European Union.
Sinn Fein MEP Matt Carthy is concerned the issue could be put back until the next summit in the autumn.

A permanent solution aimed at avoiding a hard border post-Brexit must be agreed at the meeting of EU leaders later this month.
That's the view of Sinn Fein MEP, Matt Carty, who is concerned the issue may not be resolved until the autumn.

Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes is encouraging Irish 18 year olds to apply for a limited number of free Interrail Travel Passes being made available to facilitate travel across Europe over the summer months.
Speaking to Irish Journalist, Eamonn Torsney, the Dublin MEP is hopeful more travel passes could become available in addition to the 140 allocated to Ireland.

140 free Interrail tickets have been made available to Irish 18-year-olds, under a new EU scheme to encourage young people to travel across Europe.
It is open to any 18-year-old to apply for one of the tickets under the "Discover EU" project.
15,000 tickets are being provided across Europe to facilitate travel over the summer months.
Fine Gael MEP for Dublin Brian Hayes is hopeful more tickets could become available in Ireland depending on demand for the scheme in other countries:

An Irish MEP has described upper limits proposed to direct payments to farmers, in recently announced CAP reform proposals, as a 'mirage'.
