MEPs expanded the list of crops and goods to which the ban would apply. The final law will now be negotiated with ministers. It is estimated that the EU market is responsible for ten per cent of deforestation around the world. Irish Green, Ciarán Cuffe, says a ban will help protect vulnerable habitats.
