Fine Gael MEP, Deirdre Clune, discusses ambitious new targets to cut CO2 emissions for trucks and how they will help Ireland meet climate change targets.
The Ireland South MEP tells Irish journalist, Eamonn Torsney that under the plans, emissions will have to be cut by 35 per cent for new trucks by 2030.
An intermediate target of 20 per cent cuts by 2025 has also been supported by MEPs meeting in Strasbourg.

The European Parliament has backed CO2 emissions cuts for trucks.
Under the plans, emissions will have to be cut by 35 per cent for new trucks by 2030.
An intermediate target of 20 per cent cuts by 2025 has been supported by MEPs meeting in Strasbourg.
Manufacturers will also have to ensure zero or low emission vehicles will have to have a market share of 20 per cent of new sales by 2030.
