The Ukrainian crisis is disturbing international supply chains and it’s causing volatility in the prices of raw materials and energy. And there’s a major risk that rising prices and shortages of fertilisers will cause food crises.
That’s according to the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi. During an address to the European Parliament in Strasbourg this morning, he said thirty million more people could suffer hunger between 2023 and 2026 because of the war in Ukraine. And he warned, rising costs are also having a major impact on European economies.
