MEP calls for more transparency between EU institutions – O’Sullivan

Green MEP Grace O’Sullivan is calling for more transparency and openness between EU institutions especially when it comes to important policy areas.

She says crucial meetings between the European Parliament, Commission and Council are being held behind closed doors with little information being given to the public.

The issue of transparency and openness of EU institutions came up during the week when MEPs discussed the work of the European Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly. Quality of services to citizens and transparency are two of the Ombudsman’s top priorities.

The Ireland South MEP says details of important EU meetings should be made available to everyone.
