Interview Frances Fitzgerald on increasing investment for carers

The majority of MEPs in the European Parliament today voted for a report calling for more investment for carers throughout the EU. MEPs also want EU countries to recognise the right to care and they say legislative measures are needed for decent working conditions for carers.

Between forty to fifty (40m to 50m) million people provide informal care on a regular basis in the EU and the majority of carers are women.

Fine Gael MEP Frances Fitzgerald talked to EuroParlRadio’s Karen Coleman about the report and what MEPs want when it comes to improving care services in the EU.
