EU push for digital transformation a welcome move – Clune

The European Commission is proposing a raft of investments in digital technologies to help EU countries adapt to a fully digital age.

The proposals include developments in better connectivity systems such as 5G and 6G networks. The Commission says these investments will be essential to provide the necessary bandwidth for health, education, transport, logistics and the media.

Investments will also be earmarked for the likes of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data and cloud infrastructure and super computing.   

The Fine Gael MEP Deirdre Clune welcomed the proposals.
