The UK should be allowed to delay holding EU elections until later in June if they decide to defer Article 50 and contest the elections.
That’s the advice from the Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly. He was speaking in Strasbourg where MEPs will tomorrow debate the latest Brexit developments.
EU elections are due to take place between the 23rd to the 26th of of May. And the UK have until April the 12th to decide whether or not they’re going to participate in those elections.
Sean Kelly says they should be given more time to organise them if they ultimately decide to do so.
