December 14, 2018

The situation in Strasbourg is returning to normal after police shot dead the suspected shooter who opened fire on people enjoying the city’s Christmas market last Tuesday evening.

The twenty nine year old Strasbourg-born suspect, was killed last night after he fired at police officers who had tracked him down in Strasbourg. They found Cherif Chekatt about two kilometres from the city centre where he had launched his attack.

The Independent MEP Marian Harkin, who was in Strasbourg attending the European Parliament this week, says the attacks have marred the specialness of the city’s famous Christmas market.
