The families of the Stardust fire victims say they’ve been deprived of their fundamental rights and today they’ve appealed to the Council of Europe to highlight their case.
The “Justice for the 48” Group this morning met the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights. They want the Commissioner to press the Irish government to re-open the Stardust inquiry and hold a new inquest.
Solicitor Darragh Mackin who's with Phoenix Law that's working with the Group, says they have new evidence that merits a fresh inquest.
