Wednesday Mar 27, 2019
The President of the European Council Donald Tusk has said that the twelfth of April is a key date in terms of the UK deciding whether or not to hold EU elections.
Mr Tusk was speaking in the European Parliament this morning. He outlined the outcome of last week’s European Council summit. The EU 27 leaders agreed that if British MPs pass the Withdrawal Agreement this week the UK would be given a technical extension of Article 50 until May the twenty second (22nd).
However, Mr Tusk stressed that if the agreement is not approved this week, the UK would have to decide what it was going to do by April the twelfth.
