“I don’t know how much longer this game is going to go on” – Marian Harkin on Theresa May’s Brexit negotiating

October 26, 2017

Members of the European Parliament were given an update this week on Brexit talks, following a Brussels summit last week. British Prime Minister Theresa May pursued a charm offensive with other leaders in Brussels, but then returned to London and told the British Parliament that unless there was a trade deal by March 2019, there would be no transition period.

Marian Harkin, an independent MEP representing Midlands North-West, says this would inevitably mean a hard Brexit. She says May is wearing two masks, one for Brussels and one for London.
